Travelling exhibition

Vabamu is taking ‘Why Estonia? From the USSR to e-Estonia’ exhibition travelling to introduce the story of Estonia’s digital society globally.

We are taking our “Why Estonia” exhibition on tour. The original exhibition opened in Vabamu in November 2021 and ran until January 2023, it was curated by Henrik Roonemaa and the author of the idea was Karen Jagodin. The exhibition was very popular as it was the first of its kind to summarize the history of the development of Estonian digital society as well as its achievements.

Through a playful display and eloquent stories, the travelling exhibition is trying to answer the question as to why Estonia, a former agricultural country, became digital. It explains the preconditions for Estonia to become a leading country in global digital success story and how the digital society has changed the activities of our state, private individuals, and entrepreneurs.
