This summer I had the opportunity to work with for the TayuTech/CitiSense pilot project at Tallinn University of Technology’s FinEst Centre for Smart Cities. While helping design a case for an air quality sensing module, I was confronted with new and exciting design problems that I had not yet been able to tackle in school. I was able to experience the city through a new lens of designing for a moving data collector that can be used to analyze and improve urban conditions. The field trips organized by Vabamu in Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius were also huge highlights of my summer! Some of my favorite memories are of walking around these cities, especially in their old towns where I learned about their history and architectural styles.
