Working at Vabamu was no less than a dream come true. As a fledgling arts administrator, I believe wholeheartedly in the transformative power of museum education. Vabamu’s impact on its constituents—and Estonia as a whole—echoes far beyond the museum itself. As an intern, I not only got to dive into several aspects of museum work, but support international stakeholder events, mentor student designers, and build art history curricula for educators across the EU. Taking on a transdisciplinary role such as this one has taught me that museums need not be attractive yet insular vitrines. They can operate beyond exhibition walls, touching the lives of those without a museum ticket. I am forever grateful to my mentors at Vabamu, especially Kadri Paju, who hosted exciting field trips and connected me with student-interns across the globe. I am leaving Tallinn with not only grade-A work experience but true friends!
