For many years, Sylvia has been the spirit and leader of non-governmental organisations. She is the daughter of the foundation’s founder, Olga Kistler-Ritso. As the chairman of the Council of the Kistler-Ritso Foundation, she ensures that the Foundation educates society about Estonia’s recent history. Apart from being responsible for establishing the museum and keeping it running, Sylvia’s family supports various events, projects, and films focusing on the Baltic States. It is Sylvia’s hope that the museum will inspire people to protect freedom, so that the horrors of the last century never repeat again.
