The Tallinn Digital Summit, held last week in the Estonian capital, brought together innovators, policymakers, and thought leaders to discuss the intersection of technology, society, and governance. Among the standout moments was a keynote speech by Andrew Thompson, who highlighted the influential work of Vabamu. Thompson’s address focused on Vabamu’s three pillars—museums, the youth program NoVa, and Global Conversations—and their significance in building Estonia’s partnerships worldwide. Andrew Thompson is Vabamu founder Olga Kistler-Ritso son in law and he advises Vabamu’s Supervisory Council. The keynote speech can be viewed here.
In addition to the Tallinn Digital Summit, Vabamu supported the first session of CDL-Estonia, a global initiative aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. The museum collaborated with CDL to create an enriching program for its visiting mentors, showcasing Estonia’s unique digital heritage while addressing future challenges. This season’s inaugural CDL session welcomed fascinating guests from around the world, providing a platform for dynamic exchanges of ideas.
Vabamu’s participation in the summit and CDL underscored its evolving role as a bridge between the past and the future. By advocating for freedom, Vabamu’s message resonated deeply with the audience and reaffirmed Vabamu’s role as a thought leader, blending historical perspective with forward-thinking strategies to shape a better future.
