2026 internship opportunities in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
Stanford Global Studies Internship Program offers placements at :
- Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies, University of Tartu
- NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE)
- Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech)
- VABAMU Museum of Occupations and Freedom
- Riga Stradins University, China Studies Centre
- LaSER (Latvian Strategy and Economic Research) think tank
Each of these organizations has experience in hosting Stanford interns and is looking forward to working with the students again.
In 2026 Freeman Spogli Institute Global Policy Internships offers placements in the International Centre for Defence and Security (Tallinn, Estonia), Geopolitics and Security Studies Center, GSSC (Vilnius, Lithuania) and for the first time in Vilnius University, Institute of International Relations and Political Science (Vilnius, Lithuania).
When chosen for an internship in the Baltics, students can participate in a program of events and activities organized by Vabamu. For example, in the summer of 2025, the interns visited museums and governmental agencies in Tallinn, Riga, and Tartu, met with local diplomats, hiked in Aegna Island and went even went canooing in South Estonia.
