On International Women’s Day (08.03) at 13:00 we are inviting everyone to Vabamus to watch the film “She Rises Up” by Maureen Castle Tusty and James Tusty, which focuses on the struggle of three women against poverty and inequality. The film takes us to Peru, Senegal and Sri Lanka, where three local women – Gladys Yupanqui, Magatte Wade and Selyna Peiris – help their communities out of poverty as small entrepreneurs in difficult circumstances that favor large international corporations.
The event is free, but registration is required. You can register HERE. The film will be screened in English with subtitles also in English.

In addition, an installation titled “Kettlebell” will be opened in Vabamu. The installation made by Daniel Vaarik, Karoliina Varret and Berta Kelder will accompany the sculpture by Kaido Ole that is visible in the main hall of Vabamu. The installation is open from 11.00 till 18.00.
A talk tour with the authors will take place at 14:45.
Admission to the installation and the talk tour is also free.
