On the 18th of April, a screening of Agnieszka Holland‘s film “Green Border” will take place at Vabamu. The event is organised by Roosi Mai Järviste and Vivek Jain. The event starts at 17:30 hrs, and the entrance is free.

The movie (with English subtitles) focuses on the personal stories of migrants and locals in the ongoing humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Belarus border.

The screening will be followed by a discussion on the current humanitarian crisis and actions of the Polish and Belarusian governments in the context of international and European human rights law. This event aims to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis on the Belarus-EU border, which since 2021 has killed around 200 people and caused the disappearance of around 400 people.

During the event, we will collect donations to support the actions of the Polish humanitarian aid group – Group Granica, working on the Polish-Belarus border. There will be snacks for sale to raise funds.
