My time in Tallinn and interning at ICDS has exceeded my expectations. At ICDS, I have gotten the opportunity to dive deep into several aspects of geopolitical issues and security questions Europe faces today, from countering hybrid threats to repatriating Ukrainian refugees. I have also gotten to pursue my own research project that ties together my interests in diplomatic dynamics, economics, China and Germany. Learning about security issues from the Baltic perspective has completely changed my view on current events, showing me that, here, the issues feel so much more urgent than in the U.S. However, one of my favorite parts of my time here has been meeting people from all corners of the world through work and mutual friends. I have learned so much about the experience of young people in countries like Estonia, Ukraine, South Korea and Japan. And, of course, I loved bonding with them through screaming over World Cup matches every night. I also had a great time on the Baltic trips organized by Kadri, as they have given me an opportunity to explore places I might never have gotten the chance to visit otherwise, such as the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the office of the mayor of Riga, as well as gain a deep understanding of each country\u2019s history and culture.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
