Public tours of the KGB Prison Cells take place every Wednesday at 6 p.m.<\/strong> during June, July, and August. The tours are conducted in English.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Old Town building at Pagari 1 housed a notorious pre-trial detention center \u2013 the KGB. During the tour, we will investigate the controversial history of the building and reminisce about the transformative events in Estonia\u2019s recent history. We will talk about the people who were imprisoned at Pagari 1, lived in uncertainty and hopelessness and suffered through tortures. Who were the people who fell with a shot to the back of the head? Who were the ones who pushed through the suffering and came out alive? Dark stories help tour participants better understand the past and the future, and to contemplate what it means to be human.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
