• What are the different types of false information?
  • How did the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century use the techniques of disinformation to form public opinion?
  • What can we learn from these lessons of the past in the social media era we live in?

Answers to these questions and many more will be discussed this spring in NoVa’s new museum class as well as a course called “Strategies of Disinformation Spanning Generations”. We expect 750 students to come to Vabamu and anyone can take the course on our study platform in either Estonian or Russian starting from March.

This is already the third project the NoVa team is working on in cooperation with Estonia’s Ministry of Defence to raise young Estonians’ awareness on the importance of protecting our freedom. Last year NoVa organized 13 events in the discussion series “Freedom is Our Greatest Treasure” that drew almost 800 participants to Vabamu but also various other locations all over Estonia like Pärnu, Kuressaare and Paide. In 2023 NoVa hosted 50 school groups with 1250 students from Russian speaking schools in Tallinn and Ida-Virumaa for a museum class by the same name.
